covered by the manufactured output survey, 199 recorded higher output than in May 2025, while 266 recorded lower output. On a monthly basis, compared with April 2026, output declined for 242 products and increased for 219. Hard coal output reached 3,617.2 thousand tonnes (+20.2% y\/y, +4.8% m\/m), while lignite production amounted to 3,112.2 thousand tonnes (+15.2% y\/y). In contrast, electricity generation fell to 12,797 GWh, down 4.2% from a year earlier and 15.9% from April. Coke production also declined (558 thousand tonnes; \u221210.7% y\/y), as did diesel fuel output (1,229.4 thousand tonnes; \u22129.7% y\/y).<\/p>\n\n  <h2 class=\"ceo-h2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Metallurgy_monthly_rebound_amid_a_weaker_annual_trend\"><\/span>Metallurgy: monthly rebound amid a weaker annual trend<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n  <p class=\"ceo-p\">Metallurgy saw strong monthly growth despite weaker cumulative results. Crude steel production totalled 702.4 thousand tonnes (+22.9% m\/m, +1.6% y\/y), while pig iron output reached 260.4 thousand tonnes (+60.1% m\/m), although from the beginning of the year it remained 31.5% below the level recorded a year earlier. Cement clinker production, at 1,348.1 thousand tonnes, increased by 19.9% m\/m, but was down 11.6% in cumulative terms.<\/p>\n\n  <h2 class=\"ceo-h2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Automotive_industry_and_durable_goods_under_pressure\"><\/span>Automotive industry and durable goods under pressure<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n  <p class=\"ceo-p\">The deepest annual declines affected the automotive industry and household appliances. Passenger car output dropped to 22,606 units (\u221220.8% y\/y), despite a 7.2% monthly rebound.
