The rate stood at -2.5% in December 2025 and declined further to -2.6% in January 2026. The trend reversed sharply from February: the index moved into positive territory in March (+1.2%), accelerated to +2.1% in April and +2.4% in May, and then eased slightly to +1.7% in June. This signals a reversal of the disinflationary trend in the manufacturing sector and is relevant to forecasts for producer price inflation and industrial margins in the second half of 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mining_remains_the_most_volatile_while_manufacturing_prices_rise_steadily\"><\/span>Mining remains the most volatile, while manufacturing prices rise steadily<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>In June 2026, prices fell month on month in mining and quarrying (-1.7%) and manufacturing (-0.1%), while rising in electricity, gas, steam and hot water supply (+0.4%). Prices in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities remained virtually unchanged. Manufacturing, which carries the greatest weight in the index, increased by 1.2%. Mining and quarrying \u2013 the section with the greatest monthly volatility, visible in the sharp fluctuations on the chart \u2013 remained below its December 2024 level (-0.3%). After two years in which falling factory-gate prices made negotiations with customers easier, producers are regaining some scope to pass higher costs on to buyers. Sectoral differences remain important, however.
