After falling to 2.5% in September 2025, the index began to accelerate again, reaching 4.0% in January 2026 and remaining at 5.5% year on year since April. Prices for building construction and civil engineering works rose at the same rate, by 5.1% in each case. When these figures are compared with June construction output data \u2013 which showed declining volumes in building construction while growth was driven mainly by infrastructure \u2013 they suggest that part of the industry is facing weaker demand and higher delivery costs at the same time.
