The procurement covers 72 bridges under the basic contract and a further 20 under an optional extension.<\/p>\n<p>The talks are being conducted as part of a competitive dialogue procedure aimed at selecting the technical and organisational solutions that will be used at the airport developed under the Port Polska investment programme.<\/p>\n<p>Passenger boarding bridges will be among the most important elements of the new terminal\u2019s equipment. The tender is expected to be concluded in the first quarter of 2027.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Up_to_92_passenger_boarding_bridges\"><\/span>Up to 92 passenger boarding bridges<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The selected contractor will equip the airport terminal with 72 passenger boarding bridges under the basic scope of the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The contract will also include an option to order an additional 20 bridges, bringing the total number to 92.<\/p>\n<p>The procurement covers the preparation of the detailed design and workshop documentation, as well as the manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning of the equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Once the airport becomes operational, the contractor will also be responsible for maintaining and servicing the boarding bridges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPassenger boarding bridges are one of the key elements of a modern terminal. They significantly improve the travel experience by allowing passengers to move safely and comfortably from the terminal directly onto the aircraft, regardless of weather conditions, while also improving operational handling,\u201d said Dr Filip Czernicki, president of Centralny Port Komunikacyjny.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the start of the competitive dialogue was another step towards preparing the airport infrastructure in line with high passenger-service and operational-efficiency standards.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Another_stage_in_preparations_for_the_new_terminal\"><\/span>Another stage in preparations for the new terminal<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The procurement is part of the wider preparations for the construction and equipment of the new airport terminal.<\/p>\n<p>Port Polska is a large infrastructure programme being implemented by Centralny Port Komunikacyjny. It includes the construction of a new national airport, a high-speed railway network and roads surrounding the airport.<\/p>\n<p>The programme also covers the development of a logistics centre, an Airport City commercial district and regional development projects in the area surrounding the planned airport.<\/p>\n<p>The passenger boarding bridge contract is one of several specialist procurement procedures required before the terminal can become operational.
