In the second quarter of 2026, people in Poland transferred nearly 443,000 telephone numbers between operators. Polkomtel recorded the largest net customer loss in the mobile segment, losing more than 35,600 numbers. Orange Polska and smaller operators, including VikingCo, Vectra and Premium Mobile, posted significant gains. In fixed-line telephony, the strongest growth was recorded by providers serving business customers.
In the second quarter of 2026, people in Poland transferred nearly 443,000 telephone numbers between operators across both mobile and fixed-line networks. UKE data reveal a clear loser in the mobile segment, Polkomtel, a surprising leader among B2B companies in the fixed-line segment, BT Poland, and a strong seasonal effect in April.
A total of 361,107 numbers were transferred between mobile networks in the second quarter of 2026. Performance among Poland’s four major operators varied considerably. Orange Polska recorded a positive net balance of 19,834 numbers, with 82,847 numbers transferred out and 102,681 transferred in. Polkomtel recorded the largest decline in the entire ranking, with a net balance of minus 35,677 numbers, after losing 88,620 numbers and gaining only 52,943. P4, operating under the Play brand, also lost a net 8,784 numbers, while T-Mobile Polska remained close to equilibrium, with a net balance of minus 984.
In terms of market share, Polkomtel accounted for 24.5% of all numbers transferred out but only 14.7% of numbers transferred in. This was the largest gap between customer outflow and inflow among mobile network operators. By comparison, Orange Polska accounted for 22.9% of transferred-out numbers and 28.4% of transferred-in numbers, making it the only member of the “big four” to record a clearly positive customer migration balance during the quarter.
Outside the four major mobile network operators, virtual operators and alternative providers were among the clear beneficiaries of customer migration. VikingCo Poland gained a net 6,225 numbers, Vectra gained 4,497, PREMIUM MOBILE gained 3,761 and OTVARTA gained 3,221. This movement indicates that customers were switching away from network operators, particularly Polkomtel and P4, towards less expensive or more specialised MVNO offers.

A total of 81,840 fixed-line telephone numbers were transferred in the second quarter of 2026, nearly five times fewer than in mobile telephony. The structure of gains and losses differs from that observed in the mobile market, as the largest traditional operators recorded the greatest net customer losses. T-Mobile Polska posted a net balance of minus 16,773, with 18,351 numbers transferred out and only 1,578 transferred in. Netia recorded a net balance of minus 12,405, while Orange Polska lost a net 4,326 numbers. Together, these three major providers accounted for 64.9% of all numbers transferred out in the FNP segment, indicating a significant outflow of business and individual customers from traditional fixed-line operators.
BT Poland Sp. z o.o., a telecommunications company serving primarily corporate customers, emerged as the surprising leader among operators receiving numbers. It recorded a net gain of 11,884 numbers, with only 18 numbers transferred out and 11,902 transferred in. Similar results were reported by Verizon Polska, with a net gain of 9,137, INTEGRAL Katarzyna Fitas-Antczak, with 5,770, and StarNet Telecom, with 5,158. Large, one-off transfers of this scale usually indicate the migration of entire corporate number pools rather than individual consumer decisions.

While the MNP market remained highly stable from month to month in the second quarter of 2026, with 121,111 transfers in April, 120,400 in May and 119,596 in June, representing fluctuations of approximately 1%, the FNP segment experienced a strong seasonal effect. April accounted for as much as 60% of the quarter’s total volume, with 49,088 numbers transferred. The number of transfers then fell by 74% to 12,681 in May before partially recovering to 20,071 in June, an increase of 58% month on month. Such high volatility in the fixed-line segment suggests that a significant proportion of April’s FNP volume resulted from one-off migrations of large corporate number pools rather than dispersed decisions made by individual subscribers.
Business perspective: the MNP market remains a battleground between major mobile networks and MVNOs. Polkomtel and P4 are losing customers to Orange and less expensive virtual brands, including VikingCo, PREMIUM MOBILE and OTVARTA, confirming continued price pressure in the mobile segment.
The FNP market presents a different picture. Operators specialising in corporate customer services, including BT Poland, Verizon Polska and StarNet Telecom, are taking over number pools from traditional incumbent providers such as T-Mobile, Netia, Orange and TATA Communications. This indicates that companies are increasingly migrating their entire telephony infrastructure to specialised B2B service providers.

- Polkomtel was the clear loser of the quarter in the mobile segment, recording a net balance of minus 35,677 numbers, the largest decline among all operators across both segments.
- Orange Polska was the only member of the mobile “big four” to record a clearly positive net balance, gaining 19,834 numbers and accounting for 28.4% of all numbers transferred in.
