Annual inflation in Poland fell to 2.5% in June 2026, according to Statistics Poland’s flash estimate, matching the National Bank of Poland’s inflation target. Consumer prices were also 0.5% lower than in May, with falling fuel and food prices helping to reduce the headline reading.
Consumer goods and services prices in June 2026 were 2.5% higher than in June 2025, and 0.5% lower month on month. According to the flash estimate, the annual rate of price growth aligned with the National Bank of Poland’s inflation target of 2.5%, following a reading of 3.1% in May.
Statistics Poland (GUS) has published the flash estimate of the consumer price index for June 2026. According to the preliminary data, annual inflation stood at 2.5%, corresponding to a price index of 102.5. Compared with the previous month, prices fell by 0.5% (index 99.5). The annual rate of price growth aligned with the inflation target of the National Bank of Poland, which is 2.5% with a tolerance band of ±1 percentage point.
Annual price growth against the inflation target
In the opening months of 2025, annual inflation remained above the upper bound of the tolerance band (4.9% in January–March 2025). In the following months the rate gradually declined, reaching 2.1% in January and February 2026. From March 2026 the index rose again (to 3.2% in April), before falling to 2.5% in June.

Price changes in selected categories
Beyond the headline index, the flash estimate covers three categories with the largest weight in the basket. The highest annual rate was recorded for fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment (+5.3%) and for electricity, gas and other fuels (+4.8%). Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages were 0.3% lower than a year earlier. Month on month, all listed categories fell, with the steepest decline for fuels (−7.4%).

According to the flash estimate, annual inflation in June 2026 aligned with the NBP inflation target (2.5%) and returned within the tolerance band after the increase seen in March–May 2026.
Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices, which were lower than a year earlier, remained a factor pulling the headline index down. On the opposite side are fuels and energy carriers — the categories with the highest annual rate, even though their prices declined month on month.
