Paweł Essel has been appointed as the new General Manager of the Action discount store network in Poland. He replaces Sławomir Nitka, who continues to serve as a regional director for Action.

Paweł Essel joined Action in November 2015 as an acquisitions manager in Germany. In 2017, he assumed the same role in the Polish market. His rich professional experience includes serving as the director of expansion for Northern and Western Poland for the Kaufland supermarket chain.

“I am proud to continue the work of the Action team in Poland,” says PaweÅ‚ Essel. “Action’s unique business model, characterized by a carefully selected assortment of high-quality products at the lowest price, has proven itself in this market. We are excited about the company’s development and eagerly look forward to further building our store network in Poland in line with our customers’ expectations,” he adds.

Action currently has over 2500 stores in Europe and employs over 60,000 people. In Poland, Action recently opened its 300th store and employs over 4,000 employees. With each store opening, Action creates new jobs, hiring about 12 new workers.
